About The Position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist manages full-cycle, high-volume recruiting to support timely hiring across union and non-union operations, including production, farm, and support roles in an integrated agriculture company. This role owns the candidate pipeline from application through onboarding, partners with hiring leaders, and implements effective strategies to attract and place talent across the organization. Seaboard Foods is a top U.S. pork producer/processor and leading exporter, committed to producing wholesome pork and connecting every step between farms and family tables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3 or more years’ recruiting experience required, manufacturing or agriculture industry preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, build relationships, and influence others.
  • Must be able to apply sound judgement and non-bias to all candidates.
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency.
  • Ability to interview and assess people.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for an assigned region, including high-volume hiring support (30+ concurrent requisitions; 50+ hires per week); screen and interview candidates (phone/in person) and assess skills, experience, and alignment to role requirements.
  • Support hiring needs for all levels and departments within Seaboard Foods, this includes but is not limited to plant operations, farm operations, support operations, administrative/office and corporate office positions.
  • Evaluate candidate qualifications against job requirements and operational priorities; recommend best-fit placement; prepare candidate summaries and communicate selection rationale and feedback to hiring managers.
  • Manage offer and hire execution, including preparing and extending offers, documenting hiring decisions, and completing required employment actions and approvals in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.
  • Deliver a consistent candidate and new-hire experience by providing timely updates, explaining hiring steps and requirements, and coordinating pre-start and onboarding communications to ensure a smooth transition to employment.
  • Coordinate interview logistics and hiring events, including scheduling onsite interviews, confirming participants, and preparing interview materials to support structured, job-related selection practices.
  • Communicate role expectations and employment details (duties, schedules, compensation/benefits, working conditions, and growth opportunities) and respond to applicant questions regarding the process and employment policies.
  • Coordinate and track pre-employment and post-offer requirements (as applicable), including background, skills assessments, and drug screening; maintain documentation and escalate issues that may impact start dates or eligibility.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to hiring managers, HR/Talent Acquisition leadership and Immigration team by advising on recruiting plans, selection practices, and employment requirements; ensure processes are executed consistently and within established policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for current and forecasted openings; recommend recruiting, advertising, and outreach approaches that increase applicant flow, strengthen pipeline quality, and engage passive candidates.
  • Represent the organization at college/university career fairs, community events and job fairs, and hiring initiatives; promote culture and opportunities, prescreen candidates, and ensure timely follow-up to convert leads into applicants.
  • Partner with Recruiting, HR, and Communications to deliver employer-branding and recruiting campaigns (including approved social media and advertising) and implement creative initiatives that improve candidate engagement and hiring outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate ATS/HRIS records, recruiting trackers, and talent pipelines; ensure data integrity for reporting, audits, and compliance; protect confidential applicant and employee information.
  • Monitor recruiting and employment activity through staffing reports and key metrics (e.g., applicant flow, time-to-fill, start-date readiness); identify gaps and implement action plans; provide updates and recommendations to leaders to support hourly and salaried hiring needs.
