About The Position

The NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is seeking a Talent Acquisition Sourcer to support the agency's strategic recruitment efforts. This role will focus on proactively identifying, engaging, and cultivating talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs, particularly for hard-to-fill, specialized, and high-priority positions. The selected candidate will act as a strategic partner to hiring managers, developing sourcing strategies, identifying passive candidates, and building talent pipelines. This position also involves representing the agency at recruitment events to expand awareness of employment opportunities and strengthen candidate pipelines, ultimately playing a critical role in reducing recruitment challenges and attracting top talent in competitive markets.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain proactive talent pipelines for current and anticipated vacancies by utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing tools to identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with qualified candidates before positions become available.
  • Conduct market research, talent mapping, and targeted outreach efforts to ensure the agency maintains strong candidate pools for difficult-to-fill, specialized, and mission-critical positions.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers and agency leadership to conduct intake meetings, assess workforce needs, develop sourcing strategies, and establish candidate profiles aligned with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for successful hiring outcomes.
  • Conduct pre-screening interviews and candidate assessments to evaluate qualifications, interest, and overall alignment with agency needs while providing recommendations regarding candidate viability.
  • Expand awareness of agency employment opportunities by developing relationships with professional associations, educational institutions, workforce development organizations, industry groups, and community partners.
  • Represent the agency at recruitment events, career fairs, networking opportunities, and informational sessions while supporting outreach initiatives designed to strengthen talent pipelines and attract qualified and diverse candidate pools.
  • Track sourcing activity, candidate engagement efforts, pipeline development metrics, outreach outcomes, and recruitment results to evaluate effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare reports and workforce insights for Human Capital leadership and provide recommendations to address recruitment challenges, improve candidate flow, and strengthen long-term recruitment strategies.
