About The Position

The Tailor/Fitter provides customers with high-quality service through skilled tailoring. The role involves measuring customers, fitting garments, identifying and marking required alterations, and completing fittings and sewing alterations on time according to Nordstrom guidelines and service standards. The Tailor also manages alteration requests using store technology, meets productivity goals, collaborates with the Alterations and Store teams, and offers professional guidance about fit, style, construction, and trends.

Requirements

Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; 2–3 years is preferred.
Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers.
Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing and pressing machinery and standard alterations equipment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

At least 2–3 years of fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience.

Responsibilities

Measure customers for size and fit garments on customers, marking areas requiring alterations.
