About The Position

The Tailor/Fitter provides customers with high-quality service through skilled fitting and sewing alterations. The role measures customers, fits garments, marks alteration areas, and completes fittings and alterations on time in accordance with Nordstrom guidelines and service standards. The Tailor also uses store technology to organize customer alteration needs, meets productivity goals while following established procedures, collaborates with the Alterations and Store teams, and educates customers and employees about fit, style, garment construction, and trends in a professional and friendly manner. A flexible schedule based on business needs is required.

Requirements

Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; 2–3 years is preferred.
Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers.
Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing and pressing machinery and standard alterations equipment.
Ability to embrace a flexible working schedule based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience, preferably 2–3 years.

Responsibilities

Measure customers for size, fit garments on customers, and mark areas requiring alterations.
