About The Position

The Systems Engineering organization within Honeywell Aerospace Engines and Power Systems (E&PS) is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead development and process assurance for systems engineering tools and processes. The role will guide a team developing, maintaining, and governing tools and processes, with the goal of creating a digital-first, model-based enterprise. It will lead cross-domain solutions connecting MBSE, requirements, project management, and domain-specific physics analyses in a digitally threaded ecosystem, with emphasis on requirements management, lifecycle management, digital thread, and configuration management. The manager will work across engineering organizations to capture best practices and pain points, define and deploy processes and tool solutions, and support digital transformation and development assurance consistent with ARP4754. The position also includes administering program-level engineering lifecycle management tools, authoring work instructions and training, contributing to Aero-wide transformation activities, and leading, recruiting, and developing a direct team of 10–15 engineers. The role reports directly to the Sr. Director of Systems Engineering. Candidates must meet the stated U.S. Person requirement: be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or have the ability to obtain export authorization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of directly related experience in systems engineering product development, tools, and processes in aerospace or a similarly complex field, including development assurance.
  • Must satisfy the U.S. Person requirement or have the ability to obtain export authorization.
  • Must be results oriented and process focused.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership and team-building experience delivering large, complex projects under tight constraints.
  • Experience designing and developing systems engineering tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deploy a digital engineering ecosystem at an organizational level.
  • Experience developing systems tools or threading them into a digital engineering ecosystem or digital thread.
  • Experience designing, developing, manufacturing, and testing gas turbine engines or similarly complex aerospace systems in a regulatory framework.
  • Direct experience complying with ARP4754 and associated development assurance processes.
  • Strong background in requirements-based engineering and configuration management of requirements data.
  • Understanding of certification regulations, guidance, and typical qualification expectations.
  • Strong knowledge of available engineering tools, their capabilities, and methods.
  • Knowledge of MBSE and digital thread techniques to enhance development assurance and accelerate engineering development.
  • Ability to address the interaction of organizational and human behavior with process definition to minimize development errors without imposing undue process burden.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and encourage rapid adoption.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with large, complex teams to define solutions.
  • Experience with IBM ELM, DOORS Next Generation, and Cameo Enterprise Architect.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional development of cross-domain digital integration, focusing on MBSE, requirements management, lifecycle management, and configuration management.
  • Define systems engineering processes for digital integration, configuration management, and development assurance consistent with ARP4754.
  • Gather best practices and pain points from E&PS engineering organizations and implement solutions in revised processes and tools.
  • Define tool solutions that enable data-focused processes, implement MBSE, automate error checking, enforce configuration management, and automate certification and qualification document generation.
  • Enable integration of artificial intelligence into work processes and tools.
  • Work with the systems chief engineer to develop and achieve the strategic roadmap.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering architecture and analysis teams, digital transformation workstreams, and the configuration management function to build and implement tool solutions.
  • Author work instructions and training for the E&PS organization.
  • Support and influence Aero-level transformation activities to define cross-Aero solutions.
  • Perform development assurance activities consistent with ARP4754.
  • Administer engineering lifecycle management (ALM) tools at the program level.
  • Lead, recruit, and develop direct staff to achieve the role’s objectives.

Benefits

  • Employer-subsidized medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • 401(k) match.
  • Flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts.
  • Employee assistance program.
  • Educational assistance.
  • Parental leave.
  • 12 paid holidays.
  • Paid time off for vacation, personal, and sick time.
  • Performance-driven salary.
