About The Position

The Systems Engineering organization within Honeywell Aerospace’s Engines and Power Systems business is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the development and process assurance of systems engineering tools and processes. The role will help transform the business into a digital-first, model-based enterprise by building cross-domain tool solutions that connect MBSE, requirements, project management, and domain-specific physics analyses in a digitally threaded ecosystem. Its primary focus areas include requirements management, lifecycle management, digital thread, and configuration management tools and processes. The manager will lead a team of 10–15 engineers, oversee development and governance of systems engineering tools and processes, and work across engineering functions to implement digital integration solutions. The position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Systems Engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of directly related experience in systems engineering product development, tools, and processes in aerospace or a similarly complex field, including development assurance.
  • Must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or a person with protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or have the ability to obtain export authorization.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Results oriented and process focused.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership and team-building experience delivering large, complex projects under tight constraints.
  • Experience designing and developing systems engineering tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deploy an organizational-level digital engineering ecosystem.
  • Experience developing systems tools or threading them into a digital engineering ecosystem.
  • Experience designing, developing, manufacturing, and testing gas turbine engines or similarly complex aerospace systems within a regulatory framework.
  • Direct experience complying with ARP4754 and associated development assurance processes.
  • Strong background in requirements-based engineering and configuration management of requirements data.
  • Understanding of certification regulations, guidance, and typical qualification expectations.
  • Strong knowledge of available engineering tools, their capabilities, and methods.
  • Knowledge of MBSE and digital thread techniques to enhance development assurance and accelerate engineering development.
  • Ability to address organizational and human behavior in process definition to minimize development errors without creating undue process burden.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and encourage rapid adoption.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with large, complex teams to define solutions.
  • Experience with IBM ELM, DOORS Next Generation, and Cameo Enterprise Architect.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional development of cross-domain digital integration, focusing on MBSE, requirements management, lifecycle management, and configuration management.
  • Define systems engineering processes for digital integration, configuration management, and development assurance consistent with ARP4754.
  • Gather best practices and pain points from E&PS engineering organizations and implement solutions in revised processes and tools.
  • Define and implement tool solutions that support data-focused processes, MBSE, automated error checking, configuration management, and automated certification and qualification document generation.
  • Enable integration of artificial intelligence into work processes and tools.
  • Work with the systems chief engineer to develop and achieve the strategic roadmap.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering architecture and analysis teams, digital transformation workstreams, and configuration management to build and implement tool solutions.
  • Author work instructions and training for the E&PS organization.
  • Support and influence Aero-level transformational activities to define cross-Aero solutions.
  • Perform development assurance activities consistent with ARP4754.
  • Administer engineering lifecycle management ALM tools at the program level.
  • Lead, recruit, and develop direct staff to achieve the role’s objectives.

Benefits
