About The Position

Anduril is seeking a Systems Engineer for its Battlespace Awareness team in Broomfield, Colorado. The team develops tactical sensing and decision-making software for Anduril command and control products. These systems integrate different combinations of compute hardware, sensors, effectors, and software services, and must work safely and robustly across configurations, missions, and customer environments. The Systems Engineer will support the design, development, integration, and validation of algorithmic capabilities such as tracking, sensor and effector management, battlespace optimization, and threat forecasting. The role connects system design, requirements management, modeling and simulation (M&S), and verification and validation (V&V). It includes integrating emerging capabilities into new products and system configurations, decomposing requirements across teams, and defining success amid ambiguity. The engineer will develop test plans, acceptance criteria, analysis tools, and sophisticated simulation frameworks to assess system and algorithm performance across scenarios. They will analyze simulation results and field data, verify customer requirements, and create artifacts that track performance as systems evolve. The role owns systems end to end, including scoping system configurations, scrutinizing performance, addressing issues across subsystem boundaries, and ensuring deployed systems meet customer requirements. Travel to customer sites may be required up to 25% of the time. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hardware and software systems engineering experience.
  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, Robotics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated use of model-based systems engineering during a program lifecycle.
  • Experience with tools such as MATLAB and AFSIM.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for data parsing, modeling and simulation, data analysis, and visualization.
  • Skills in statistics, AI/ML, requirements, testing, and MBSE.
  • Demonstrated proficiency applying engineering standards to engineering processes or requirements.
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to developers, system leads, and customers.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and challenging problems.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites up to 25%.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with processes and constraints for real-time and safety-critical software.
  • Working knowledge of C/C++ or Rust; full-time coding is not required.
  • Understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
  • Prior involvement in field exercises, test events, or experimentation campaigns.
  • Comfort obtaining data from software platforms using command-line tools.
  • Previous experience in a defense, aerospace, or naval environment.
  • Experience with robotics, autonomous systems, radar, optics, computer vision, wireless communication, software-defined radios, or networking.
  • Proficiency with Python and/or MATLAB for data parsing and data visualization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, and validation of algorithmic capabilities, including tracking, sensor and effector management, battlespace optimization, and threat forecasting.
  • Integrate emerging capabilities into new products and system configurations.
  • Lead requirements decomposition across cross-functional teams and define success amid ambiguity.
  • Develop test plans, acceptance criteria, and analysis tools to evaluate system performance using simulation and collected field data.
  • Use data-driven analysis to verify customer requirements and create artifacts that trace performance as the system evolves.
  • Develop and implement modeling and simulation frameworks to validate algorithmic performance, test system capabilities under different scenarios, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  • Scope the ideal system configuration, scrutinize system performance, and ensure deployed systems meet customer requirements.
  • Own systems end to end, identifying and resolving issues across subsystem boundaries and driving toward the desired outcome.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are part of the total compensation package.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, described as a comprehensive and competitive package available at little to no cost to employees.
