About The Position

The Systems Administrator II is responsible for the support, maintenance, and day-to-day operation of enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and endpoint systems. This role focuses on ensuring system availability, performance, and security through execution of operational tasks, troubleshooting, and adherence to established standards. The position works closely with senior administrators and IT leadership to support infrastructure initiatives while providing reliable support to the business and user community.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure support
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environments
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware
  • Familiarity with backup, storage, and disaster recovery technologies
  • Basic understanding of networking and infrastructure concepts
  • Familiarity with endpoint management and mobile device support
  • Understanding of IT security best practices and ability to follow established controls
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow processes and work within established standards
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with end users and technical teams

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Windows-based server and infrastructure environments, including physical and virtual systems
  • Create and maintain user accounts, access controls, and security privileges in Microsoft Active Directory environments
  • Support system backup and recovery processes to ensure availability and integrity of critical systems
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and alerts; troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues
  • Support virtualization environments (e.g., VMware), including routine maintenance and operational support
  • Maintain and support enterprise email systems, including mailbox administration and distribution lists
  • Support endpoint systems, mobile devices, and associated management technologies
  • Assist in maintaining infrastructure security tools and controls in coordination with IT/OT Security (e.g., endpoint protection, system hardening)
  • Provide second-level support for help desk and end-user issues, including escalation resolution
  • Assist with system upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
  • Support infrastructure projects and deployments under direction of senior administrators or management
  • Follow established IT standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Support audit, compliance, and documentation requirements
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as required
