About The Position

CACI is seeking a cleared Systems Engineer to support an Army Product Manager at Fort Belvoir, VA. Apply system engineering principles and procedures to translate quantified needs/requirements into system performance parameters and the identification of system/item configuration. The program is Hardware focused. Secret clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Secret clearance
  • BS Engineering and > 5 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the Systems Engineering Management Process and Implementation, as applied to the Department of Army/DOD Acquisition process throughout all life cycle phases
  • Knowledge of DOD policies on Systems Engineering, Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD) and IPT Management
  • Ability to coordinate and negotiate design and engineering activities with other related programs and organizations.

Nice To Haves

  • BS Engineering and > 20 years relevant experience OR have an MS Engineering Equivalent and > 15 years of experience
  • Subject matter expert for Systems Engineering, and have the ability to lead engineering efforts on assigned programs with minimal oversight from the Government lead.
  • Provide expert and authoritative advice affecting critical programs and technologies.
  • Previous experience supporting an Army Program, Project, or Product Manager

Responsibilities

  • Help manage systems engineering activities including requirements analyses, functional analyses, design solutions formulation, systems analysis and control, and generation and maintenance of systems architecture products
  • Help formulate and issue systems engineering documents, processes, procedures and milestones
  • Perform top level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting
  • Translate military operational and mission requirements into practical system concepts and performance specifications
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and engineering changes
  • May participate in post awards, program reviews, design reviews, and IPTs as the project engineer and/or technical expert on assigned programs
  • Help evaluate design efforts to ensure integration of all the engineering disciplines and adequacy of the analyses performed, bringing in additional technical expertise as needed
  • Review test plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy on assigned programs, for both Government and contractor tests, as well as all failure reports
  • Review and evaluate system performance against specification requirements, monitor and assess field performance, and assess risk of meeting user and specification requirements
  • Initiate engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as required, and conduct physical and functional configuration audits
  • Review program management documents to ensure accuracy and adequacy of technical content.
