About The Position

Intertek is seeking a System Administrator to join its Connected World team in Rockville, Maryland. The role oversees, maintains, and plans the future growth of infrastructure, and receives, installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains customer devices submitted for cybersecurity testing. Intertek’s Connected World solutions support the launch and maintenance of secure, effective IoT products and systems. The position is described as on-site. The salary range is $75,000–$90,000, with individual compensation based on factors including skills, experience, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

Install and configure network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless network devices, and virtualization servers.
Work with devices from a wide range of vendors.
Engage with vendors while troubleshooting client devices.
Monitor, identify, and resolve network and device issues quickly to minimize downtime.
Recommend, schedule, and perform improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
Communicate and collaborate with co-workers and management to ensure infrastructure meets business demands.
Provide routine support for in-house and remote computer systems using Windows 11 and virtualization servers.
Maintain a working database or inventory of client and internal devices, IPs, and access control.
Work with internal customers to provide system solutions.
Write technical documentation as assigned.
Keep abreast of current technology.
Perform other duties as required.
