About The Position

Day Kimball Health is seeking a System Administrator I to join our IT Department in Putnam, Connecticut. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure by providing technical support, administering Windows server environments, Active Directory, virtualization platforms, networking systems, and enterprise applications. The System Administrator I monitors system performance, resolves technical issues, supports technology projects, and assists with system maintenance, upgrades, and disaster recovery activities. This role works collaboratively with IT team members, vendors, and end users to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology services while delivering excellent customer support and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and enterprise systems.
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Citrix, or Nutanix.
  • Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, networking concepts, and enterprise storage solutions.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience documenting technical procedures, system configurations, and support activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Windows desktop operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide second-level technical support for hardware, software, server, network, and application issues.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows server environments, Active Directory, virtualization platforms, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and support servers, storage, networking, and IT systems.
  • Manage help desk tickets and deliver timely, customer-focused technical support.
  • Monitor system performance, backups, security, and availability to ensure reliable IT operations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with IT team members, vendors, and business departments on technology projects and system improvements.
  • Test, implement, and support software updates, patches, and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical systems and after-hours technical issues.
