About The Position

This role involves managing incoming and outgoing calls, performing clerical duties, and ensuring smooth office operations. The position requires good communication and computer skills, as well as the ability to maintain records and greet visitors. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities related to detainee accountability and safety within a detention center environment.

Requirements

  • Clerical skills including typing, filing, and computer training.
  • Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Route incoming and inter-office calls and make connections with outside lines for outgoing calls.
  • Place long-distance calls and keep a record of all long-distance calls, outgoing and incoming reversed charge calls.
  • Keep a directory of location/telephone extensions for assignment personnel.
  • Type correspondence, reports, and letters; proofread material to verify accuracy.
  • Maintain records, files, and appropriate office supplies.
  • Operate office equipment such as copying and calculating machines.
  • Under direction, order and coordinate communication services.
  • Update and maintain the facility directory.
  • Greet and direct visitors to the proper office.
  • Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
  • Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
