Swim School Manager
About The Position
SafeSplash Lancaster is seeking a Swim School Manager to lead its swim instruction and school operations across locations in Lititz, Lebanon, and Hershey, Pennsylvania. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the manager divides time between teaching swim lessons on deck and in the water, leading instructors, supporting families, and growing enrollment. The role advances the organization's mission of teaching children the joy and lifesaving skill of swimming. The manager trains and supports instructors, builds schedules, helps ensure a positive customer experience, supports enrollment and class placement, and contributes to local marketing and community partnerships. The role also involves teaching group and private lessons, overseeing pool safety and cleanliness, supporting daily opening and closing procedures, and identifying facility issues. The schedule is about 40 hours per week, mostly weekday afternoons and evenings plus Saturday mornings, with no Sundays, Friday nights, or Saturday nights.
Requirements
- Genuine passion for working with children.
- Experience supervising staff or working in a customer-facing role, such as aquatics, childcare, fitness, retail, or a similar field.
- Calm, friendly professionalism when interacting with parents.
- Ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
- Comfort in the water for extended periods.
- Ability to stand and lift swim equipment.
- Willingness to earn CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications.
- At least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between Lititz, Lebanon, and Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Train, mentor, and support swim instructors.
- Build instructor schedules and resolve scheduling problems.
- Model core values and foster a positive, accountable team culture.
- Answer parents’ questions, resolve concerns, and handle escalations professionally.
- Support enrollment, billing questions, and class placement.
- Identify ways to improve the family experience, including check-in and class flow.
- Follow up on leads and convert inquiries into enrollments.
- Help plan and carry out local marketing, community events, and partnerships.
- Grow enrollment and encourage current families to return.
- Teach group and private swim lessons to students of all ages and abilities using the SafeSplash curriculum and teaching philosophy.
- Help oversee pool safety, cleanliness, and daily opening and closing procedures.
- Identify facility issues early and follow through to resolution.
