About The Position

Goldfish Swim School is a learn-to-swim facility for children ages 4 months to 12 years. The Swim Instructor teaches water safety and proper swimming techniques using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. The school’s mission is to help children become safer in and around the water while making their experience enjoyable. The role may also include front-desk duties, as reflected in the listed job title “Swim Instructor/front desk.” Paid training is provided, and Ellis Lifeguard certification, along with CPR/AED and First Aid certification, must be obtained within the first 90 days of hire; in-house certification is provided. Employees work in a 90-degree pool and tropical environment. Schedules are set and may be adjusted quarterly to accommodate class schedules. The posting describes full-time work at this location as 20 or more hours per week, with up to 40 hours available; part-time work is also offered. Advancement opportunities may be available.

Requirements

Ability to work with children; no formal swimming experience is required.
Willingness to work in the water for 3–4 hours on some shifts.
Availability to work one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) for a 4-hour shift and some evenings until 7:30.
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Must want to have fun.
Must be at least 15 years old.
Obtain Ellis Lifeguard certification within the first 90 days of hire; in-house certification is provided.
Obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire; training is available on site.

Responsibilities

Teach students water safety and proper swim techniques using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
Work with children in a learn-to-swim program.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employer.
