About The Position

Language Trainers is seeking a freelance Swedish Teacher to provide customized, one-to-one general Swedish training to a beginner adult student in Phoenix, United States. The course consists of 50 total hours, with two-hour sessions twice per week. The student is available Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday after 4:30 pm. The preferred start date is November 9, 2026.

Classes may take place at the trainer’s office if it is conveniently located nearby; otherwise, they will be held at the client’s home in Phoenix, ZIP code 85016. The student wants to become fluent to communicate naturally and confidently with family in Sweden, with a focus on speaking and listening as well as grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing. Schedule and location may be flexible based on availability. The hourly rate is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

• Be a native Swedish speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification.
• Have experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter.
• Have a valid work permit or visa.
• Live within 20 miles of the specified location.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one general Swedish language instruction to a beginner student.
• Conduct two-hour lessons twice per week, within the student's stated availability.
• Support the student's development in speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing.
