SVP & GM, Data Center

Bidgely, Inc•Remote, CA
•$230,000 - $260,000

About The Position

Bidgely is seeking a founder-caliber executive to scale its Grid flexibility product line at the intersection of AI-driven energy data and grid flexibility. The role owns the portfolio’s P&L, product roadmap, go-to-market strategy, commercial results, and team build-out. It is a general-management position spanning product, business strategy, and executive-level customer engagement—not an individual-contributor domain-expert role. The successful candidate will set the strategy and positioning for the Grid portfolio, determine where Bidgely should build, integrate, license, or partner across the grid planning stack, and translate market demand into product development and a compelling business narrative. They will recruit and lead the product, technical, and commercial team needed to scale the business, establish its operating rhythm and organizational design, and own pipeline, pilot-to-contract conversion, and revenue growth. The executive will represent Bidgely with utility customers, partners, and investors, including in high-stakes evaluations and relationships. They will set expectations for the quality and credibility of technical work such as studies, pilots, and filings-grade analysis without personally performing engineering work, and identify partnership, licensing, or acquisition opportunities that can strengthen Bidgely’s position in the grid market. The role develops its 12–24 month strategy in partnership with the Chief Growth Office on market direction and positioning.

Requirements

  • Track record of building and scaling a team or business unit from an early stage.
  • Experience owning commercial outcomes such as revenue, pipeline, or partnerships—not only product quality.
  • Executive presence and credibility with utility C-suite leaders, boards, and investors, with the ability to translate technical depth into business conviction.
  • Experience owning a product roadmap end-to-end, from market thesis through pilot design to commercial rollout.
  • Ability to design pilots as studies with a hypothesis, acceptance criteria, and a defined way to fail.
  • Ability to prioritize a technical roadmap against commercial urgency and decline work that does not advance the business.
  • Experience working with or in data centers and/or hyperscalers, with working knowledge of speed-to-power, build, and control needs.
  • Understanding of data center operations and the surrounding partner ecosystem, including utility and regulatory environments.
  • Evidence of leading or participating in large software-based commercial deals for data center energization, build, or operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Startup, new-venture, or intrapreneurial experience.
  • Working fluency in distribution planning, hosting capacity, interconnection, and ability to direct and evaluate a technical team.
  • Understanding of utility buying and regulatory environments, including capacity planning cycles, NWA evaluation, and requirements for defensible analysis in a filing.
  • Prior exposure to AMI, GIS, or grid planning software such as CYME, Synergi, OpenDSS, or ETAP.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, positioning, and commercial results for the Grid product and business portfolio.
  • Set and own the 12–24 month strategy for Grid flexibility in partnership with the Chief Growth Office on market direction and positioning.
  • Translate market demand into product development and a business narrative.
  • Recruit, structure, and lead the product, technical, and commercial team required to scale the portfolio.
  • Build the operating rhythm, hiring plan, and organizational design for the business line, including product, engineering liaison, and go-to-market talent.
  • Define where Bidgely should build, integrate, license, or partner across the grid planning stack.
  • Own commercial outcomes, including pipeline, pilot-to-contract conversion, and portfolio revenue growth.
  • Establish the credibility bar for technical output, including studies, pilots, and filings-grade analysis, without personally performing engineering work.
  • Serve as the internal escalation point and external representative for high-stakes utility relationships and evaluations.
  • Represent Bidgely at the executive and board level with utility customers, partners, and investors.
  • Identify and close partnership, licensing, or acquisition opportunities that accelerate Bidgely’s position in the grid market.
