About The Position

RNR Tire Express is a national franchise retailer of tires and custom wheels with more than 200 locations in 29 states. The Suspension/Lift Technician, also described as a Tire & Wheel / Alignment Technician (Service Specialist), oversees activity in the service and installation shop. The technician supports shop operations, safety, inventory, and customer service, and performs suspension, lift, tire, wheel, brake, and alignment work. This is a full-time opportunity with stated compensation of $35,000–$50,000 with bonus and hourly pay of $18.00–$23.00.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in the listed automotive service work.
• Ability to install lift kits on trucks and leveling kits.
• Ability to install brakes and vehicle lifts.
• Ability to mount, balance, and install tires and wheels.
• Ability to use tire mounting and balancing machines.
• Well-versed in alignments and knowledgeable about light front-end work.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and organize heavy products.
• Valid state driver's license with a clean driving history.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check; a background check must be passed before hire.

Nice To Haves

• ASE Certification is preferred but not required.
• Prior experience as a tire technician, wheel specialist, automotive technician, auto tech, or alignment tech is helpful for success.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all activity within the service and installation shop.
• Ensure shop safety guidelines are followed and paperwork is completed.
• Maintain shop inventory, products, tools, and equipment.
• Install lift kits and leveling kits on trucks and install vehicle lifts.
• Install brakes and perform light front-end work and alignments.
• Mount, balance, and install tires and wheels using tire mounting and balancing machines.
• Place product and supply orders and organize delivered merchandise.
• Identify and properly tag returned products, and clean and maintain returned products.
• Maintain an organized inventory system and control parts spending.
• Lift and organize heavy products.
