The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Central Region in Anchorage, is looking for a Survey - Sub-Journey 2 to help us Keep Alaska Moving! In this role, you’ll be an integral part of a field survey team, operating and maintaining advanced equipment such as Total Stations, GPS receivers, and Digital Electronic Levels. You’ll ensure the crew has the tools and materials needed to complete tasks efficiently while keeping detailed and accurate survey notes to support project goals. The position involves handling equipment like gas-powered jackhammers and performing line clearing using tools such as machetes and chainsaws. This is a hands-on opportunity to work in diverse and challenging environments, including rough terrain, noisy conditions, and adverse weather, where your skills and resourcefulness will be key to success. The Survey Section provides support in the design of highway and aviation projects. The section is team oriented. This position’s incumbent will be responsible for field survey data collection, maintaining field survey equipment and supplies, and promoting a positive atmosphere throughout the section.
