About The Position

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Anchorage International Airport, is seeking a Maintenance Specialist - Electrician - Journey 2/Lead to maintain the electrical systems associated with Anchorage International Airport (ANC). This role involves working with airfield lighting systems, exterior building lighting, street lighting, lift stations, pilot-controlled gates, and other electrical controls. The airport environment is dynamic, requiring a high level of skill due to advanced systems and changing conditions. Responsibilities include maintenance and repair of all electrical systems across the airfield and complex, regardless of weather conditions, and effective communication via company and air-to-ground radios. Additional tasks include equipment cleaning and maintenance, fixture rebuilding, locates for construction projects, testing backup generators, and airfield lighting inspections. The role involves inspecting and repairing lighting systems in various conditions, which may include replacing light fixtures during snow events, repairing fixtures by boat on the lake, or training for emergencies.

Requirements

  • State of Alaska Fitness Certificate - Electrician
  • First Aid/CPR
  • National Electric Code knowledge
  • OSHA Regulations knowledge
  • Journeyman Electricians license with the State of Alaska (or ability to obtain within 90 days for conditional hire)
  • Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) (or ability to obtain within 120 days for conditional hire)
  • Registration with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing clearing house
  • Consent to Employer to review driver information
  • Compliance with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy
  • Passing a Pre-Employment drug test
  • Three (3) professional references, including name, job title, and current phone numbers.
  • A current copy of your Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), if applicable.
  • A current copy of your State of Alaska Electrician Fitness Certificate.
