About The Position

GardaWorld Security Services is hiring a Surveillance Security Officer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The role focuses on monitoring screens and security systems to identify threats before they escalate, in settings such as security operations centers, call centers, and parking gatehouses. The position has a set full-time schedule: Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Mondays and Tuesdays from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. The hourly wage is $18.36. A uniform is provided at no cost, and career growth opportunities are available. Employment is contingent on successfully completing a background check and drug screening after an offer is extended.

Requirements

• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Provide documentation of a high school diploma or GED.
• Pass an extensive screening process.
• Have strong report-writing skills.
• Have sharp visual activity and exceptional concentration skills.
• Have strong proficiency with technology.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Be available to work holidays.
• Be able to obtain and maintain an Iowa security license; GardaWorld will help obtain and pay for the license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems to detect suspicious activity.
• Document observed events and incidents and write detailed reports.
• Respond quickly to incidents or potential threats.
• Conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety of the premises.

• Analyze security systems to identify potential vulnerabilities or malfunctions.
• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious situations or emergencies.
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property.
