About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Armed Patrol Officer at a government location in Bloomington, Illinois. The officer will conduct armed patrols, maintain a visible security presence, respond to concerns and incidents, document activity, and provide professional customer service to visitors and staff. The role offers access to a shift-claiming platform and paid industry-specific security training.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
An armed guard card or license.
At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
A valid firearms permit.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following post orders and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations.
Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation according to site procedures and company standards.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
