About The Position

The Surveillance Lead Technician installs and maintains closed-circuit television (CCTV) equipment, including video cameras, VCRs, and multiplexers, and keeps an accurate log of activities during each shift. The position reports directly to the Surveillance/Security Manager and supervises the Assistant Technician. The technician ensures CCTV and backup systems function properly, installs equipment in accordance with the cited electrical and television standards, and performs daily maintenance to prevent loss of video. The role requires familiarity with CCTV applications in gaming and physical security, and the proper use of specified video and audio testing equipment. The technician attends meetings or training as directed, performs other assigned duties, and must be willing to be on call and work occasional overtime.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Associate degree in electronics from an accredited institution or two years of on-the-job training in electronics.
Comprehensive computer skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to function under stressful conditions.
Good organizational and clerical skills.
Must be able to obtain a gaming license.
Must have a telephone.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
Must be able to use a ladder up to 25 feet high.
Ability to work in small areas and in awkward positions.
Willingness to be on call and work occasional overtime.
Ability to withstand a smoky environment for extended periods, with direct exposure to secondhand smoke.

Responsibilities

Supervise the Assistant Technician.
Ensure all CCTV systems and backup systems are working properly.
Install CCTV equipment according to the latest revisions of the National Electrical Codes, the National Television Standards Committee, and the National Manufacturers Association standards, as cited in the posting.
Keep an accurate log of all activities during the shift.
Perform daily maintenance to prevent loss of video.
Attend meetings and/or training as directed by management.
Perform all duties as assigned.
