Surgical Technologist, Float Team, PRN, Baptist Downtown
About The Position

We are seeking a Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of experience to join our Float Team. This role offers a flexible schedule, with PRN candidates required to work four shifts per month and full-time candidates required to work three shifts per week (including weekends). The Surgical Technologist will float between campuses, including the Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville operating room, contributing to a collaborative and patient-focused environment.
Requirements
- Graduation from an Accredited Surgical Technologist CAAHEP or ABHES Program OR - Previous experience working in an Operating Room (OR) setting
- Minimum of two years of working experience as a Surgical Technologist
- Experience in Ortho – total joints, robot, general, Gynecology, ENT, or urology.
- 2 years Surgical Services Experience Required
- Vocational School or Associates Degree Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Level II Background check required as a condition of employment and continued employment.
Responsibilities
- Assembling, organizing, and maintaining a sterile field for operative procedures.
- Anticipating the needs of the surgeon and the progression of the case and preparing accordingly.
- Proper disposition of specimens and instruments.
- Working with the entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and to promote patient safety.
