About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support the Endoscopy Team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a full-time, day-shift position scheduled for 40 hours per week, with required call and competitive call differentials. The role is part of the surgical services team in the Endoscopy unit and supports procedures by helping maintain a sterile environment, providing instruments to surgeons, and promoting patient safety. Precision, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential to providing quality patient care. The position is located at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, Downtown Main Building, 800 Prudential Drive, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. The role may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist CAAHEP or ABHES program.
- Less than one year of Surgical Technologist experience.
- Less than one year of Endoscopy Technologist experience required.
- High school diploma required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Nice To Haves
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program, such as NBSTA or NCCT; preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
- Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and the progression of the case, and prepare accordingly.
- Properly handle and dispose of specimens and instruments.
- Work with the entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
- Participate in required call coverage.
