SURGICAL TECH-OB-NON CERT/LABOR AND DELIVERY
About The Position
The Surgical Obstetrical Technologist performs technical functions to assist in patient care in the Operating Room within the Labor and Delivery area. The OB Tech assists registered nurses, anesthesia staff, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals. The primary role is to perform the scrub role during surgical procedures and ensure the availability of sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment. The position also includes assisting with basic patient care activities in Obstetrics and Nursery. The role is full-time nights, working 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., 36 hours per week and 72 hours per pay period. The selected candidate must be able to attend a full-time, 12-week orientation on day shift at Atrium Medical Center.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Additional in-service education in the Family Birth Center.
- Completion of Family Birth Center education and orientation.
- Current CPR certification.
- Completion of the OB Surgical Technologist program under the direction of the OB/GYN Department.
- NRP certification.
- Ability to attend a full-time, 12-week orientation on day shift.
Nice To Haves
- Nurse Assistant experience preferred.
