Surgical Tech - Labor & Delivery
About The Position
The Surgical Technician assists the surgical team during operative procedures by preparing and inventorying sterile setups and providing items to the operative team as needed. The role also includes helping prepare and move patients and cleaning operating rooms. The technician provides surgical care to meet identified patient outcomes and facility goals, as directed by a Registered Nurse. The position also performs unit duties, which may include phlebotomy, taking vital signs, assisting with newborn care, and general patient care assistant duties. The schedule is two 12.5-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with weekend and holiday rotation.
Requirements
- Associate degree or a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of an associate degree.
- Complete and maintain all competencies and trainings required for the role.
- BLS certification.
- Certified Surgical Tech (CST) certification through NBSTSA or NCCT; new graduates must obtain certification within six months of graduation.
