About The Position

Provides direct and indirect technical care to surgical and obstetric patients across the age spectrum, facilitating the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. Follows established practices and standards and supports the mission, policies, and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High-school graduation or equivalent.
• Graduation from a surgical technology program accredited by the Department of Education (DOE) or Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
• Hold CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or TS-C (Technician in Surgery–Certified) certification from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
• Have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from ARC or AHA upon hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS is required within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year as a Surgical or OB Technologist in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
