About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist with cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience and an established background in open-heart surgery. The role supports open-heart procedures and, when CVOR volumes are low, may include floating to and assisting with general surgery. The position primarily operates on day shifts, with scheduling options of four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days (6:00 AM–2:30 PM). The role includes call responsibilities and requires flexibility in scheduling and assignments while maintaining a high standard of patient care and supporting surgical teams.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent open-heart surgery experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments and central processing.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in open-heart surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring surgical instruments are ready.
• Float to and assist with general surgery when CVOR volumes are low.
• Participate in call, including at least 2–3 days per week depending on staffing levels.
• Be available for weekend call from the end of the Friday shift until 7:00 AM on Monday.
• Participate in a potential holiday call rotation based on the holiday calendar during the assignment.
