About The Position

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for preparing the surgical suite, handling instruments intraoperatively, maintaining the sterile field, and evaluating changing conditions during procedures and responding appropriately. The role requires maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and related principles and may include serving as a preceptor.

The position is in the Surgery Department at Zeeland Hospital. The department has three operating rooms, two endoscopy suites, and a C-section room, and supports other services including manometry and bronchoscopy. It handles a variety of cases, including multispecialty, orthopedic, general, OB/GYN, urology, dentistry, ear, nose and throat, and bariatric procedures.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an accredited school of surgical technology; the school does not necessarily need to award an associate's degree.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

• Surgical Technologist experience; clinical rotations count as experience.
