About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Pediatric Surgical Services Team at Wolfson Children's Hospital. The role supports pediatric surgeons and the operating room team in maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring safe, efficient procedures for infants, children, and adolescents. This is a full-time day shift position, with required flexibility to work weekends and holidays and participate in a call rotation. The position is located at Wolfson Children's Hospital, Downtown - Main Building.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTSA or NCCT.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout each procedure and prepare instruments and supplies accordingly.
- Ensure proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instruments.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
- Participate in the required call rotation.
