Surgical Technologist- Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital- 0.9 FTE Days
About The Position
At Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, we perform a variety of procedures including General/vascular, Orthopedics, Urology, GYN, and Ophthalmology. Our 8 operating rooms, renovated in May 2020, feature new system integration for improved efficiency. As an Orthopedic Center of Excellence, we offer numerous orthopedic procedures, including same-day discharge for total joint replacements. This full-time position (0.9 FTE) requires on-call duties for nights, weekends, and holidays, typically involving 4 units of call per 6-week schedule, one weekend rotation per 6 weeks, and 1-2 holidays per year.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- CST preferred or equivalent military training program.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a surgical technologist in the same area or in similar day-to-day situations in a hospital operating room setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- AST membership preferred.
- Experience (or interest) in Orthopedics and Neurosurgery preferred.
Responsibilities
- Functions as the scrub person.
- Works under the direct supervision of an RN or physician to facilitate safe and effective care during invasive and operative procedures.
- Ensures the OR is safe, equipment is functioning properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
- Facilitates a physician's performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.
