About The Position

The Surgical Technologist functions as the scrub person and works under the direct supervision of an RN or physician to facilitate safe and effective care during invasive and operative procedures. The role ensures the operating room is safe, equipment is functioning properly, and procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. The Surgical Technologist facilitates physicians’ performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospital operating room setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, or ability to obtain it upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (CST), or equivalent military training.
• AST membership.

Responsibilities
