About The Position

The Surgical Technician prepares the operating room, including setting up the sterile field and surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions. During surgery, the technician passes instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon and manages surgical equipment, the sterile field, and specimens. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5:30 PM. Holiday coverage is required, and the position includes a weekend call rotation from 7 AM Friday through 7 AM Monday with a 15-minute response time.

Requirements

• BLS certification required.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment.
• Provide the surgeon with appropriate instrumentation and equipment and assist during procedures.
• Prepare the operating room for surgery.
• Keep records of steam sterilizer use.
• Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator.
• Organize suture carts and monitor expiration dates.
• Turn over rooms between surgical cases.
• Assist team members with gowning and gloving.
• Assist with patient positioning pre-operatively and transport patients between cart and bed.
• Ensure adequate supplies are stocked for surgery.
• Perform other duties as requested.
