About The Position

The Surgical Technician prepares the operating room by setting up the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions. During surgeries, the technician passes instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon and manages surgical equipment, the sterile field, and specimens.

This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5:30 PM. Weekend call rotation is required from 7 AM Friday through 7 AM Monday, with a mandatory 15-minute response time. Holiday coverage is also required.

Requirements

• BLS certification is required.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification is preferred.
• 1+ years of related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment.
• Provide appropriate instrumentation and equipment to the surgeon and assist during procedures.
• Prepare the operating room for surgery.
• Keep records of steam sterilizer usage.
• Perform initial counts of instruments, sharps, and sponges with the circulator.
• Organize suture carts and monitor expiration dates.
• Turn over operating rooms between cases.
• Assist team members with gowning and gloving.
• Position patients pre-operatively and transport them from the cart to the bed and back.
• Stock adequate supplies for surgeries.
• Perform additional duties as requested.
