About The Position

The Surgical Technologist II maintains and prepares the surgical suite, handles instruments during procedures, maintains the sterile field, and evaluates changing conditions during surgery, responding appropriately as needed. The role requires maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols and may include serving as a preceptor. The position is based in the Operating Room South Tower at Royal Oak Hospital, a 16-OR unit recognized for Orthopedics and Neurosurgery and serving pediatric and adult patients, including acute and urgent trauma cases. The unit uses advanced technologies for surgical care.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Associate degree or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program, such as military training, or one year of equivalent experience.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year of Surgical Technologist experience; clinical rotations count as experience.
