About The Position

The Surgical Technologist II maintains and prepares the surgical suite, handles instruments during procedures, maintains the sterile field, evaluates changing conditions during surgery, and responds appropriately. The role requires maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols and may include serving as a preceptor as needed.

The position is based at Grosse Pointe Hospital in the Operating Room. The hospital includes the James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a hybrid surgical unit using advanced technologies for a wide variety of procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Associate degree or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program, such as military training, or one year of equivalent experience.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of Surgical Technologist experience; clinical rotations count as experience.
