Surgical Tech II
About The Position
Corewell Health is hiring a Surgical Tech II for the Operating Room at Grosse Pointe Hospital. The hospital is a Magnet-designated facility recognized by U.S. News & World Report and is home to the James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a hybrid surgical unit with advanced technologies for a wide variety of procedures. The Surgical Technologist II maintains and prepares the surgical suite, handles instruments during procedures, maintains the sterile field, and evaluates changing conditions during surgery, responding appropriately as needed. The role also requires maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols and may include serving as a preceptor. The position is full-time, with rotating shifts, variable work hours and days, and variable weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Associate degree or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program, such as military training, or one year of equivalent experience.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of Surgical Technologist experience; clinical rotations count as experience.
Responsibilities
