About The Position

Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide patient care in a positive, supportive, and collaborative work environment. The role is open to experienced Certified Nursing Assistants, nursing assistants, and patient care technicians, as well as candidates interested in starting a career in patient care. Candidates who are not certified or lack applicable experience receive six weeks of full-time on-the-job training. After training, the position is full-time, day shift, with self-scheduling flexibility. The role contributes to hospital throughput and capacity while helping enhance the patient experience. Patient care is provided under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.

Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
Applicable experience requirement: less than one year; candidates without applicable experience may receive six weeks of on-the-job training.

Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.
Experience in home health or an interest in providing patient care.

Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning.
Anticipate patient and family needs proactively.
Individualize and modify care according to each patient’s needs.
Collaborate with other health care team members to enhance the provision of patient care.
