About The Position

Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide patient care in a positive, supportive environment. The role is open to experienced Certified Nursing Assistants, nursing assistants, patient care technicians, and people interested in beginning a career in patient care. Candidates without certification or applicable experience receive six weeks of full-time on-the-job training. After training, the position is full-time, day shift, with self-scheduling flexibility. The Nursing Assistant provides care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN, helping improve hospital throughput and capacity while enhancing the patient experience. Care is individualized to each patient’s needs and delivered with respect and kindness.

Requirements

Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
Strong communication and time management skills.
Team orientation, eagerness to expand skills, and strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.
Experience in home health or other patient care.
Applicable certification or experience; candidates without these may complete six weeks of on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.
Perform direct and indirect patient care tasks.
Assist with activities of daily living and care, including bathing, hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning.
Anticipate patient and family needs proactively.
Individualize and modify care according to the patient’s needs.
Collaborate with other health care team members to enhance patient care.
