About The Position

Animal Specialty Center (ASC) is seeking compassionate and motivated Surgery Assistants to join our Surgery team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in veterinary surgery while working alongside experienced technicians, specialists, and surgeons in a fast-paced specialty environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods

Nice To Haves

Veterinary experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Prepare surgical patients for procedures including clipping and cleaning surgical sites
Safely handle and restrain surgical patients
Perform laboratory diagnostics and assist with imaging procedures
Transport patients safely between wards, treatment areas, and surgical suites
Set up and prepare surgical suites for procedures
Maintain proper handling of sterile equipment and supplies (Ability to perform aseptic and sterile techniques)
Provide assistance to veterinarians and veterinary technicians during procedures
Communicate with clients as directed
Make and present estimates to clients for diagnostics, treatments, surgery and/or hospitalization
