About The Position

Skylos Sports Medicine, a BluePearl Veterinary Partner, is an orthopedic, rehabilitation, and sports medicine specialty practice focused on client-centered veterinary care. The practice is recruiting a Veterinary Assistant to join its surgery team. The role involves assisting with patient care and surgery-related tasks, along with some post-operative client communication. The assistant must be able to work independently while contributing to larger team goals. The position is scheduled for four 10-hour daytime shifts, with no weekends or holidays. Pay is $20–$30 per hour.

Requirements

Previous experience in a veterinary clinical setting, including training in safely interacting with nervous dogs and cats.
Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.

Responsibilities

Assist with patient evaluation and examination.
Obtain high-quality digital orthopedic radiographs.
Run routine lab work.
Administer medications and treatments.
Sterilize surgical instruments.
Exercise patients.
Clean kennels and ensure overall cleanliness of the hospital.
Provide client education and communication, including some post-operative communication.
