Veterinary Assistant - Surgery Prep
About The Position
BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated, self-motivated Sterile Supply Assistant with a positive attitude to join its surgery team. The role supports high-quality instruments and patient care through sterile preparation. The assistant prepares instruments and the operating room for surgery; cleans and sterilizes instruments and wraps packs; and decontaminates and cleans operating rooms, the sterile supply room, and equipment according to established procedures. The role also maintains appropriate quantities of surgical supplies and equipment, removes faulty equipment from service for repair or replacement, and serves as a resource to the surgical team regarding surgical equipment. The stated starting pay band is $18.00–$27.00 per hour and depends on experience and advancement through the competency leveling system. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or sponsorship transfer. Applicants must have unrestricted, current authorization to work in the United States and not require future employment-based green-card sponsorship. Responsibilities
- Prepare instruments and the operating room for surgery.
- Troubleshoot faulty equipment and remove it from service for repair or replacement.
- Maintain appropriate quantities of surgical supplies and equipment.
- Decontaminate and clean operating rooms, the sterile supply room, and equipment according to established procedures.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and wrap packs.
- Serve as a resource to the surgical team regarding surgical equipment.
