About The Position

EvergreenHealth is seeking an experienced Surgery Tech (Scrub Tech) to join its Family Maternity Center OR team. The Surgery Tech works as a member of the patient care team, focusing on procedural care needs. This is a 0.9 FTE, full-time position with night hours and 36 hours per week, located in Kirkland, Washington.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Must be registered as a Surgical Technologist within the State of Washington.
Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.

Nice To Haves

2 or more years of Surgical Tech experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare rooms with the appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each surgical procedure, following the policy and procedure manual.
Maintain close attention to aseptic technique at all times.
Participate in patient safety activities, including the presurgical pause.
Perform all counts as defined in OR policies and procedures, documenting them on the OR record.
Maintain an orderly and sterile instrument table and/or Mayo stand.
Consistently pass necessary instruments to the surgeon and surgical assistants.
Remain alert and handle unexpected situations with calm efficiency.
Prepare and handle medications on the sterile field under the direct observation of a registered nurse.
Handle records, labels, and specimens according to established policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
