Surgery Tech - FMC OR (0.9 FTE, Days)
About The Position
EvergreenHealth is seeking an experienced Surgery Tech (Scrub Tech) to join its Family Maternity Center OR team. The Surgery Tech works as a member of the patient care team, focusing on procedural care needs. This is a full-time position scheduled for 36 hours per week on days, based in Kirkland, Washington. The position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between EvergreenHealth and UFCW Local 21; union membership is optional. EvergreenHealth is an integrated two-hospital healthcare system serving nearly 850,000 residents in north King and south Snohomish counties. The organization was formed in 1972 as a public hospital district and has received recognition for clinical excellence. The posted wage range is $32.36–$54.01 per hour. Job offers are determined based on relevant experience, education, and internal equity; additional premiums may apply based on shift, certifications, or degrees.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Registration as a Surgical Technologist in the State of Washington.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.

- Two or more years of Surgical Tech experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare rooms with the appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each surgical procedure, following the policy and procedure manual.
- Maintain close attention to aseptic technique at all times.
- Participate in patient safety activities, including the presurgical pause.
- Perform all counts required by OR policies and procedures and document them on the OR record.
- Maintain an orderly and sterile instrument table and/or Mayo stand.
- Consistently pass necessary instruments to the surgeon and surgical assistants.
- Remain alert and handle unexpected situations with calm efficiency.
- Prepare and handle medications on the sterile field under the direct observation of a registered nurse.
- Handle records, labels, and specimens according to established policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
