About The Position

The Surgery Scheduling Specialist works in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic and coordinates patient registration, appointments, and surgery scheduling according to availability. The role conducts patient pre-certification, verifies that required pre-surgery tests are completed, and coordinates arrangements such as equipment orders, room availability, and pre-surgery medication. The specialist also schedules follow-up appointments and answers patients’ questions about surgery preparation and arrival and departure instructions. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position at Texas Health Digestive Specialists in Fort Worth, Texas. The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The clinic offers a collaborative work environment, cross-training, and career development opportunities; weekends are not required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong customer service skills.
Good communication skills.
Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
Ability to work as a team player and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Two years of related experience in a healthcare environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate, register, and schedule patient appointments according to availability.
Conduct patient pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care.
Ensure all required tests are completed before surgery.
Coordinate necessary equipment orders, room availability and scheduling, pre-surgery medication, and other arrangements before procedures.
Schedule necessary follow-up appointments.
