About The Position
The Surgery Scheduling Specialist at Texas Health Neuro Spine Specialists is responsible for coordinating, registering, and scheduling patient appointments. This role ensures all necessary pre-surgical requirements are met, including patient pre-certification, required tests, equipment ordering, room scheduling, and pre-surgery medication arrangements. The specialist also schedules follow-up appointments and communicates essential preparation and logistical information to patients regarding their procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Nice To Haves
- 2 years related experience in healthcare environment (Preferred)
- Previous Surgery Scheduling experience (Strongly Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, register and schedule appointments for patients according to availability.
- Conduct patient pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care.
- Ensure all required tests needed prior to surgery are done.
- Coordinate and ensure necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medication, etc is arranged prior to scheduled procedure.
- Schedule any necessary follow-up appointments.
- Communicate and answer patients' questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival / departure instructions relative to procedure.
