About The Position
The Surgery Scheduling Specialist will coordinate, register, and schedule appointments for patients. This role involves conducting pre-certification for coverage, ensuring all necessary tests are completed prior to surgery, and coordinating equipment, room availability, and pre-surgery medication. The specialist will also schedule follow-up appointments and communicate essential preparation and logistical instructions to patients regarding their surgery.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Nice To Haves
- 2 years related experience in healthcare environment (Preferred)
- Previous Surgery Scheduling experience (Strongly Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, register and schedule appointments for patients according to availability.
- Conduct patient pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care.
- Ensure all required tests needed prior to surgery are done.
- Coordinate and ensure necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medication, etc is arranged prior to scheduled procedure.
- Schedule any necessary follow-up appointments.
- Communicate and answer patients' questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival / departure instructions relative to procedure.
