About The Position

Under general supervision, the Surgery Scheduler schedules surgical procedures, diagnostic therapy, and other treatments. The role coordinates pre-surgical medical clearance and discharge care coordination, verifies physician orders, and communicates with patients, providers, and associates. The scheduler also educates patients on pre-op and post-op instructions, recommends standard policies and procedures for routine service, coordinates preventive maintenance requirements with operating requirements, and reconciles surgery reports within 24 hours to confirm that authorizations match the surgery performed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Some medical experience.
• Previous surgery scheduling experience.
• Previous electronic medical record (EMR) experience.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
