CROSS TRAINED ASSISTANT - Full Time- 6:30a-5:00p
About The Position
The Surgery Cross Trained Assistant is a safety-sensitive paraprofessional who assists registered nurses and/or anesthesia providers with direct and indirect patient care under their direction and supervision. The role supports nursing and medical staff in achieving optimal patient outcomes and may include assisting with activities and comfort measures and maintaining a safe, clean environment. The position also performs housekeeping, transportation, and courier duties for the surgical services area. The assistant is cross-trained to perform both Patient Care Technician and Anesthesia Technician duties within the operating room. This is a full-time schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Wednesday off. Weekends and holidays are not required. The position qualifies for the full-time benefits package and quarterly bonuses.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- BLS certification required upon hire.
- Able to tolerate frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving patients, beds, and equipment.
- Comfortable working in a surgical environment and able to tolerate exposure to blood, bodily fluids, surgical procedures, and potentially unpleasant sights or smells.
- Previous Anesthesia Technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

- Assist with patient positioning and transfers.
- Perform operating room and anesthesia turnover.
- Transport specimens and stock supplies.
- Perform housekeeping, transportation, and courier duties for the surgical services area.
- Support nursing and medical staff in providing optimal patient outcomes.
