About The Position

Homestead Village is seeking a full-time Driver for its transportation team at a non-profit Life Plan Community in Lancaster. The role transports residents to appointments, activities, and special events while providing courteous service and assisting residents as needed. The Driver maintains assigned vehicles and related records, communicates with residents to coordinate transportation, and adapts to changing needs. The posting gives differing schedules: Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. in the role description and 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. in the qualifications section; occasional weekends may be required for events.

Requirements

• Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Excellent driving record.
• Good judgment and ability to work independently.
• Excellent customer service with older adult customers.
• Honest, dependable, and safety conscious.

• CDL license.

Responsibilities

• Drive residents to and from scheduled doctor and dental appointments, practicing safe driving habits.
• Assist residents with wheelchairs and when they are partially ambulatory, as needed.
• Drive residents to and from planned activities and special events.
• Keep assigned vehicles clean, serviced, fueled, and in proper working condition.
• Schedule and call residents as needed to coordinate timing and service, as determined by the supervisor.
• Escort residents to and from Homestead Village vehicles.
• Maintain daily vehicle inspection, vehicle-use, travel, and fuel logs.
• Be flexible and receptive to changes.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
